I have this little Facebook Group. I guess it’s not so ‘little’ anymore, at over 2,000 members. We keep it to just women, so that each member is able to feel safe talking about girl stuff. :) Anyway, from time to time I will post model calls for specific ideas. Mrs. A answered a model call I did a few months ago for a glitter bath. We were supposed to do this session the beginning of August, but I ended up developing pre-eclampsia at 33 weeks and delivering at 36.6 weeks (just a few days before we’d scheduled this particular session). We finally got to do this session last week, and it was so much fun!
Mrs. A came to the studio at 930 and meet Hailey in her space for hair and makeup. She’d washed her hair the evening before, and it was brushed backwards. Typically, we curl or do big waves, but Hailey thought the slick backed look would look so good for her glitter bath. Her hair would be getting wet anyway, so curls would be a waste in the end. Hailey was so right! I ended up loving what Hailey did, and Mrs. A asked for a pop of purple in her eyeshadow. I did greens, blue and silver for her glitter bath and IT TURNED OUT SO DANG PRETTY!!!
This is the third session that Mrs. A has done with me, she keeps coming back for more. Boudoir photos are seriously ADDICTIVE, and I really can’t blame ya’ll. They are definitely one of my top three session types that I do, and they definitely are a love of mine. I love the outcome, you guys seeing your photos. Did you know that my clients see their photos THE VERY SAME DAY of their session? I do not want you guys to have to wait to see how fucking fabulous you are, and really there is a science to it. I want you to see what the camera sees, before I edit. I think it really brings your self-confidence full circle. I am not a heavy editor anyway, but I find that if you do not see your unedited images that clients THINK I’ve done some crazy editing to them - when I DO NOT. I want you to see what everyone else sees when they look at you! I want you to see yourself, for the badass that you are!

Hailey came to see me near the beginning of January for her first session (yep, she’s already had another one). She booked for a personal reason, one that required her to remember who she is. People book for a lot of reasons. Sometimes it’s because they want to give their partner a gift, sometimes it’s because they are getting married and want to give their new husband an album on their wedding day, sometimes it’s because they just need a pick me up and sometimes it’s because they’ve been through something and they’ve totally lost themselves. One of the best parts of booking a boudoir session with me is that you get to see your images before you even leave the studio. Everyone loves immediate gratification, and I do it because I know that clients do. But, really I do it because I love to SEE you SEE yourself. EVERY SINGLE WOMAN who sits down with me to see their photos, just as the camera takes them… with NO editing, says “ that’s me?!?!? I look like that? “. We spend so much time focusing on our flaws, we miss our beauty. We have stories, reasons to not like our appearance, reasons we think give us an excuse NOT to love ourselves. If we can just look past them, we’ll fall in love all over again - maybe for the first time - with ourselves. Watching as that happens, that’s worth more than any dollars, worth more than any words I could hear. Seeing you fall in love with you, that’s my favorite part.
I saw some of Leslie's work on a friend's page and was immediately drawn to it. She does such a great job of capturing the fierceness and beauty of these women. None of her work ever made me think "o that's a little too raunchy", every thought was "hell yea, look at her owning it!"
EVERYTHING! Lol, would they turn out good? Would I be comfortable doing them? But Leslie is awesome and makes you feel completely at ease!

A lot has changed in the last twenty or so years. Ashley and I have known each other most of our lives. We used to dress alike, we had all of the same toys and our mothers spent many hours crafting together. Our lives have gone different directions, and we didn’t see each other for many years. Her family moved to Rhode Island when we were both nine years old. That summer my parents separated and we all loaded up in our green Dodge Caravan and drove all the way to Providence. I remember the black striped bike shorts that we both wore to the American Girl store ( we were both obsessed with American Girl), and the side pony tails we both had that day. I don’t remember a lot from my childhood, but I remember Ashley being my best friend.
She moved back ‘down’ South a few years ago, and we instantly reconnected (she’s only TWO hours away now)! She lives in Dallas, is basically the coolest chick I know, super successful and she’s S A N G L E !!!!!!!!!
